IUP ALUMNUS BURK PERFORMING ONE-MAN SHOW SEPTEMBER 23
Brandon Burk, a professional actor who graduated from IUP with a degree in theater, will perform his one-person show Invention on Friday, September 23, at 8:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room. The performance is free to the public and is part of his nearly week-long residency with students and faculty.
Burk’s show is the result of a creative burst after release from prison. His tragic experience of taking another’s life as a result of a drunk driving accident started a journey of self-discovery. The play is a a redemption story. Coming off of a performance contract at the Utah Shakespearean Festival, Burk will also provide a stage combat workshop, talk with students about developing a career plan, and will join in Carrie Cole’s special topics course “Exploritorium,” in which students are creating their own one-person shows.
