SHP Summer Counselor Position Announcement
The Cook Honors College is looking for counselors to help run our Summer Honors Program (SHP). This year’s program runs from July 7-20, 2019.
We are planning to hire students with Federal Work Study (FWS), but do not want to discourage your interest if you are uncertain about your status.
Salary for the two weeks is $1100 plus 30 hours of community service.
Below you will find the counselor application and position description.
The deadline for applications is March 8, 2019.
The Haven Project is hosting two events next week focused on promoting healthy relationships for IUP students. Both events will have attendance vouchers available. We would greatly appreciate it if you could please disseminate this information to the other faculty members and students in your department. The events are as follows:
Escalation Workshop: Wednesday, February 20th from 5:00pm-6:30pm in the HUB Ohio Room. They will be showing the short film “Escalation,” which depicts the warning signs and possible consequences of dating violence. Escalation was produced by One Love, the organization founded in memory of Yeardley Love, a college student murdered in the context of dating violence. The film will follow with a discussion about warning signs, how such signs may be easy to miss, and how to effectively intervene in similar situations.
Healthy Relationships Program: Thursday, February 21st from 5:00pm-6:00pm in the HUB Susquehanna Room. This presentation will educate students about the building blocks of healthy relationships (both romantic and non-romantic), how to foster healthy relationships for themselves and their loved ones, and how to recognize signs of an unhealthy relationship.
