ARK of Learning, Volunteers Needed

This is an important opportunity to make a positive difference in a child’s life.  Through your guidance, you will help students improve academically, make new friends, and gain a sense of self-worth.  You can be proud to say that with your influence a child will experience success in the years to come.

The emphasis of the program will be on reading/math and homework tutoring with enrichment opportunities. You are then invited to join the children in a nutritious evening meal.  You can come for all or part of the ARK program. We have sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 3:00pm to 6:30pm.  Children benefit most from consistency, so it is very important that you do not miss sessions as your student(s) will come to look forward to your time together!

As part of your on-boarding process, you need to complete a mandated Salvation Army Keep SAfe training that will be provided to you to complete at home.

Please contact Megan Richardson at 724.465.2530×14 to schedule an appointment.

You must bring the following to this on-boarding meeting:

  • Photo identification
  • List of current and previous addresses and persons you lived with after 1975
  • Two references, name and phone number
  • Resume (optional)
  • Copy of any clearances you already have

(The Salvation Army will obtain all required clearances at no cost to you)
