Indiana Community Seed Swap

On October 28th, the Indiana Community Seed Swap will be hosting their fourth annual event from 1-4 pm in the HUB Ohio Room.

The Indiana Community Seed Swap is a community organized and supported event that has been held yearly since 2014. Its primary goal is to gather and preserve non-GMO seed lineages indigenous to Western Pennsylvania. Beyond that, seeds are also distributed to attendees for free to further ensure the continued proliferation of native plant gene diversity in the area.

During the event, volunteers will be needed to work at the registration, information, seed swap, and food tables. Individuals who want to work the children’s corner of the event need clearances to do so.

Volunteering individuals should arrive around 12 pm, prior to the event’s start, to help set up tables and vendors, if possible.

As the event is close to Halloween this year, we also request that volunteers wear a child-appropriate Halloween costume that does not obscure the face. If a costume cannot be found, a hat would suffice.
