Pittsburgh Asia Consortium Undergraduate Student Research Conference!

On Saturday, April 8th Indiana University of Pennsylvania will host the 5th Pittsburgh Asia Consortium (PAC) Undergraduate Student Research Conference. Undergraduate students are invited to present their research on Asia, and this will be an invaluable opportunity for them to meet other students interested in Asia, hone their presentation skills, and get feedback on their work. Presentations can be from any discipline, and on any part of geographical Asia, including the Middle East. Most students will present their work in the form of 10-15 minute oral presentations as part of a traditional panel with a faculty discussant. Posters and other forms of presentation are also welcome.

All participants and attendees must register, but registration is free. All students must have a faculty sponsor, who need not be present at the conference. A formal Call for Papers will be sent out later. Proposals with a title and name of the faculty sponsor must be submitted on-line by March 1, with an abstract to follow for papers that are accepted. This will be a one-day conference, but arrangements will be made for overnight stays in Indiana, which is a bit over an hour east of Pittsburgh. There are a variety of hotels in town, or student presenters may be able to stay with IUP students. Further details will follow, but we would like to encourage you to begin identifying students who should be encouraged to apply. Please circulate this to any colleagues who may have appropriate students.
