Volunteer with the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival

Hi Caleb!

I know that honor’s college students do a lot of great volunteer work.
Would you be willing to spread the word that we are seeking student
volunteers during the Folk Festival on Sept 11 and 12? You can find out
more info about this event here: http://northernappfolkfest.org/

If they are interested, they can contact me via email and I will add
them to our schedule. We have also had a student volunteer serve as
‘volunteer coordinator’ with great success in the past. If you know of a
great candidate to help out in that role, please let me know!

We need students to sign up for time during the following blocks.

1 – 5 pm: Set up festival
4:30 – 5:00 – Walk with the Puppet Parade from the Artist’s Hand to
Philly and 6th street

promotional items

Saturday Sept 12
9- 10 am: Set up Children’s Alley at IRMC Park on 7th st.

Tuesday, September 1, 6 p.m.

Come meet other students who are interested in law school, and help create an agenda for the club.

All IUP students are welcome to join the Pre-Law Society, which serves as a valuable resource for those interested in law school and law-related careers.

Joining IUP’s Pre-Law Society gives you:

  • leadership opportunities

  • information about law school and law-related careers
  • a place to meet other students with interests similar to yours
  • a chance to visit law schools in the area

Plus, the Pre-Law Society is a lot of fun.

Questions about the Pre-Law Society should be sent to the group’s president, Patricia Gonzales at BQYS@iup.edu.

Volunteer Opportunity with the Appalachian Trail

The below post is an email from the Centennial Volunteer Ambassador, Hope Midok, an alumna of CHC.

Hi Everyone!

I hope things are going well at the HC and that the year is off to a great start! I wanted let you know about an upcoming opportunity with the Appalachian Trail. The application isn’t quite finished so it’s not available to the public yet (should be soon!), but when it is we’ll be moving fast so I wanted to give you a heads up.

As part of its strategic plan for 2015-2019 the Appalachian Trail Conservancy is looking to create the first ever Next Generation Advisory Council in order to foster the development of broader relevancy and diversity within the trail community. It’s a fantastic opportunity for resume building that would also count for volunteer hours.
