Call for Submissions: Interdisciplinary Voices

The Center for Film Studies, with the support of New Growth Arts Review, would like to invite submissions for Interdisciplinary Voices, a special online mixed-media publication. The topic for this publication is Social Stigmas and Disease, with a focus especially on AIDS (autoimmune deficiency syndrome) and STIs (sexually transmitted infections).

Some questions to consider for the publication could be: How do these illnesses affect individuals in society? How does society view individuals with these illnesses? How does one function within society with the stigma of disease? Is there any way to eliminate these stigmas? What is it like to love and care for someone with one of these problems?
Interdisciplinary Voices will publish digitally, allowing us to accept a wide array of genres. We invite all forms of submissions, including (but are certainly not limited to): poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction, photography, artwork, and short performance pieces (pre-recorded video, please).
All individuals with submissions accepted into the journal will receive a gift certificate to the Co-op Store.

Submissions will be accepted until January 31, 2015. Please email your submissions or any questions to Amy Klemm (a.l.klemm@iup.edu) and Meg Oldman (r.m.oldman@iup.edu).
