First Wednesday Freshman Workshop Tomorrow

The first of ten Wednesday Freshman Workshops will run from 11am to 12
pm in the Great Hall tomorrow. The rationale for this program is
simple, “What should you know in your first semester about CHC and IUP
to use college well over the next four years?”

Each workshop and the assignment that grows out of it will count for
3 service hours. Attending all sessions and assignments will equal 30
community service hours this semester, half of what is required.

Tomorrow’s session is an overview of the CHC Social Service program.
Though social service is required of all who receive a CHC or IUP
scholarship, it is essential for every student to commit to something
larger than themselves in college. This program will acquaint you with
all the resources to find sustained meaningful service at IUP and in the
Indiana community.

You can access the fall schedule for the workshops at http://www.iup.edu/honors/page.aspx?id=96931.

An overview of tomorrow’s session can be found at http://www.iup.edu/honors/page.aspx?id=113321.

I realize some of you will not be able to attend due to a science
lab, ROTC or a music practice. Please let me know if you cannot make it
tomorrow due to a permanent schedule conflict on Wednesdays and I’ll
schedule a meeting to discuss how to proceed.

Let me know if you have questions.
