Boren Presentation at IUP: Thursday, November 18th at 12:30 PM

Robyn Van Wingerden, Program Manager for the Boren Awards at the Institute of International Education will be on campus in the Cook Honors College on Thursday, November 18th, 2010 at 12:30 PM in the Whitmyre Great Hall. She will present information about Boren Scholarships and Fellowships to all interested undergraduate and graduate students in the Whitmyre Great Hall.

The Institute for International Education offers Boren Awards for the study of languages critical to US national security interests abroad. If you want to learn a less commonly taught language, do research in a country commonly underrepresented in study abroad and pursue a career in government service, then a Boren Award is for you.

Boren Scholarships allow U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underrepresented in study abroad.

Boren Fellowships encourage U.S. graduate students to add an important international and language component to their education, and can include language study, research, and academic internships. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
