Who is Tim Burton? I mean, besides one of my favorite filmmakers. Almost everyone knows the name Tim Burton, but most people don’t really know who he is or how he got his start.

Tim Burton is an American filmmaker. He was born in 1958 in Burbank California.  Most people know Burton for his fantastical films, but many don’t know that his first job out of college was for Disney.  He worked on several films for Disney as an animator.  Eventually, he was given the opportunity to make two short films with Disney, Vincent Price and Frankenweenie. (Frankenweenie was deemed inappropriate for kids and never released.)

Burton got his first big break when he directed Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.  He was approached to direct the film by Paul Reubens after Reubens saw Frankenweenie. After the success of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure Tim Burton went on to make many more popular films such as Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, and Beetlejuice. He continues to make popular and successful films to this day.

Many of Tim Burton’s films have amassed a large following. The Nightmare Before Christmas remains a fan-favorite.  Many stores carry a large variety of merchandise for the film.  Another one of Burton’s films, Beetlejuice, was recently turned into a musical that’s taken Broadway by storm.

Burton has a majorly successful career in the film industry. Almost everyone knows his name and has seen at least one of his films. I hope this post gave you a better look into who Tim Burton is.
