Dance away the freshman fifteen

The freshman 15. Every college student has heard about it, the 15 pounds freshman gain at the start of their college career now they are no longer having meals cooked for them. Campus eating is not always the healthiest options. A way to counteract this food issue is with exercise.

The problem can lead to bigger issues if not taken seriously. Often people are plagued by self-esteem issues when experiencing this problem. Whether for physical health or mental health dance is a great way to combat both.

Colleges across the country have dance classes even though it’s not specifically a fine arts school. These classes, often open to anyone are great for beginners and advanced dancers. If you feel you may be advanced professors are more than willing to get you into a class that is best suited for you. The classes are a great way to build up credits if you need some extra. If not, school gyms or athletic centers offer classes that can be taken by any students who sign up. There are no reasons not to try one of these options.

I recommend the university classes the instructors are able to dedicate more time to you individually and really help you grow as a dancer and person. The instructors also know how to make sure your body is properly aligned and you are not causing harm to your body. Through this, there are more opportunities to get involved on campus. Universities have performances the students can audition for so you can meet people with similar interests and create a group of friends who are just like you.
