Have you ever recorded? Personally, I have done my own and several other large group recordings and they are just exhausting! I only know recording from a band setting/ large group, so I am always curious as to what it is like for these bands who record in the studio. I think one of the hardest things about recording is that you know you can get it perfect. Getting it your definition of perfect is hard enough but doing it in a group adds a whole new level of challenge to each recording.

Live recordings without editing are always a challenge. I often wish I was a little better at editing myself so that I could edit my own excerpts and solos and things, however, I think there is something also important about a live recording without editing. If you can make it sound amazing without editing, I think that says quite a lot. Technology is amazing but still if you arent quite sure on how to make technology work for you things can get a little more complicated.

Recording has come a long way from the very basic first recordings to today where every recording can be done basically all from a laptop! Maybe one day I will be better at recording myself. Any of you who have done recordings anyone have any tips for the rest of us on what you do when you are recording?
