Public Service Fellows Internship Program

Eligibility
Applicants must be undergraduates, graduate students, or recent graduates with

  • A commitment to public service;
  • Strong written and oral communication;
  • Analytical thinking; and
  • An ability to work well in teams.

Internship Options

Compensation
Fellows receive the following compensation:

  • Full time fellows with an undergraduate or graduate degree will receive $1000 per month
  • Full time fellows who are currently undergraduate students will receive $800 per month
  • Part time fellow compensation will be pro-rated accordingly

Communications Officer, Indiana County Football Club

Eligibility
English Majors and minors with an interest in editing and publishing, sports, and local community organizations and a minimum 3.0 GPA. (*Applicants who do not meet these requirements are also welcome to contact the coordinator with their qualifications.)

Duties
Intern will serve as Communications Officer for Indiana County Football Club, a local soccer organization whose mission is to develop, support, and promote organized soccer and to foster local soccer culture for players and coaches of all ages in the Indiana County community. The intern will engage in a variety of activities throughout the semester, including:

  • Creating and serving a Editor in Chief of an ICFC newsletter (including reporting, writing, editing, and layout)
  • Researching and writing press releases on ICFC activities
  • Writing and updating website content
  • Writing and designing various promotional materials, camp brochures, etc.
  • Social media content creation and curation
  • Participation in ICFC board meetings
  • Attendance at ICFC events

Objectives
The ICFC Intern will be given opportunities to develop and hone the following skills:

  • Professional writing
  • Reporting
  • Editing
  • Design and layout
  • Marketing
  • Social media
  • Networking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Interest in sports and Indiana community
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn publishing software
  • Facility with social media
  • Willingness to attend events, conduct interviews, and network
