Philadelphia Eagles win first Super Bowl in franchise history

The Philadelphia Eagles won the franchise’s first Super Bowl with a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII which was played Sunday. Philadelphia managed to outscore the Patriots and make one big defensive stop in which Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham strip-sacked Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to shift the momentum back to the Eagles late in the game. Aside from Graham’s big defensive play late in the fourth quarter, there was not much defense in this one as the two offenses combined for more than 1,000 total combined yards, an all-time record in NFL history. Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles went on to win Super Bowl MVP honors after leading the Eagles offense to big numbers and bringing the City of Brotherly Love its first championship since 1960 and first Super Bowl championship in franchise history. The Eagles championship parade took place in Philadelphia on Thursday as hundreds of thousands of fans flocked to Broad Street to celebrate.
