Jenga Towers Collapse: my memoir

Through creative memoir, Jenga Towers Collapse tells my story of confronting change and understanding my mental illness as I transition into college. With Generalized Anxiety Disorder and panic attacks dictating my way of thinking and symptoms of dissociation diluting my humanity, I learn to understand the value of others as well as the fragility of the self.

The Power of Books

When I was struggling with the change of growing up and the way my brain functioned, all I wanted was to feel less isolated. I would’ve loved reading a book like this when I was trying to feel less alone. There’s a great deal of power in solidarity.

Sharing Stories

I primarily chose to share this story for the sake of my own mental processing and reflection, but my story is not entirely unique to me. It may resonate with you. It may teach you something. It may teach someone you know. Share this story for the sake of empowering others to share their own.

About the Author

I am a junior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in English Writing Studies with a minor in Communications Media. During the week, I am most likely sitting in a corner of the library, listening to Clair de Lune on loop, and trying to write something worth reading. On the weekends, it’s almost a guarantee that I’m drinking hot chocolate with my best friends while we make fun of bad movies. Thanks, in advance, for reading my book. I hope it can mean something to you like it means something to me.
