Remix Idea

My remix idea would be a flash fiction of sorts. I would call it more of a character study on Lily Potter. I’m trying to decide whether I want to do her years in Hogwarts. I feel like the reader never gets enough of Lily in school only in Snape’s memories. Another idea I may do is Lily Potter’s final moments before she is killed.

I think it would be cool to examine Lily’s years at Hogwarts. Maybe you could frame it as how her relationship changes with James? She goes from hating him to loving him and you could talk about how/why that happened.

That would be interesting to see Lily’s years at Hogwarts other than from Snape’s flashbacks. We never really see far into Lily’s early life so it would be cool to see it in a different perspective. Good idea!

I know it’s not in the ideas on your main post, but another thing that could be fun to explore is Lily’s relationship with Petunia. It’s shown in the books that Petunia loved her sister even if they were estranged after the whole magic thing, so you could show how Hogwarts affected their relationship as siblings, which could possibly tie into Lily’s death – was she thinking of her sister at all, or you could cut to Petunia when they took in Harry – did she only see James or did she think of Lily (since Harry only had Lily’s eyes, was she maybe doubtful of Harry’s identity until he opened them).

This comment kind of turned into a suggestion about Petunia more than Lily – Lily at Hogwarts or her death would be interesting too, but if it’s at Hogwarts I think it’d be kind of fun to see just Lily on her own – she was really good at Potions if I remember correctly, because Slughorn said Harry must have taken after his mother or something of the like, and considering she’s a Gryffindor it’d be interesting to see how that maybe gave her friendships with some Slytherins or something of the like.

(Just trying to give you some jumping points, you don’t have to use any of these!)

I like the idea of examining her time at Hogwarts. We already kinda know what her final moments were, but we don’t know much at all about her time in Hogwarts. I think it would be super cool to know what classes she liked/disliked, who her friends were (outside of James and Snape), was she a bookworm like Hermione, etc. I also think this option gives you a lot of room to be creative. So I vote to do this. I think it’ll turn out spectacularly.
