Over the weekend some positive news that happen was the rapper Tip Harris also known as TI recently covered 23 inmates that had nonviolent offenses against them reports read that first time prisoners were released. He joined up with VH1 love and hip hop, new birth missionary Baptist church and scrapp Deleon to fund this miracle of a story and actually made up to 120,000 dollars in donations for the release of 7 men and 16 female inmates. One of the men who was let go said “I was in disbelief when they called my name” another man of the program said “ it’s like a whole clean slate for me” he went on to say “I just wanna do right and be a model citizen”. Good deed after another, tip also said that the other portion is for a college fund for kids of returning citizens of the program.

Country rapper Lil Nas X song “old told road”

With everything going on in country music, the latest to hit the scene was a artist by the name of Lil Nas X who’s been tearing up headlines by creating a rapping country song this past year. He’s not your typical country artist due to the fact that he’s rapping over a country beat and the sound is definitely different from regular music that country music fans are used to. He was recently nominated for the song but unfortunately didn’t win because to some the song wasn’t “country enough”. The song has made the three different billboard charts such as Hip Hop/Hot R&B and Hot country songs and has charted the 100 billboard and since he redid the song, he added some help to assist with the tone of the song. He choose Billy Ray Cyrus as the feature to help him attain the country song that everybody so desperately wanted and everyone knows what Billy Ray has done for country music so with him asking him for a feature could do him the artist Lil Nas some justice.  This isn’t the first time rap has made a cross over with country music, back in 2009, artist Nelly made a song with Tim McGraw called over and over, which did good for both as their careers grew even more from creating this song, so the sky’s the limit for Lil Nas X if he wants to continue down that route.

Nipsey hussle’s untimely death.

Last week a sad day came upon us when the rapper and icon, nipsey hussle was gunned down in front of his own store in Crenshaw, California. Some may not know how his impact really touched a lot of people all over the world and not just inside of his city. The incident occurred March 31st when nip as people called him, was out front of his store conversing with a couple of his homies one which actually just got out of jail and nip was trying to give him some clothes since he came home. One of nip ex friends happen to show up and from the media outlook, the person who actually took Nipsey hussle’s life was a known rat (snitch) and was also a crip just like Nipsey. According the outlets, nip didn’t want the guy around considering the fact that he was an informant and the person of interest which was his killer, didn’t take liking to that and felt disrespected in a way and before you knew he came back and shot Nipsey and one his friends. Nipsey was shot in the head and torso while his other friend was shot in the leg. In the video footage caught from a camera in the parking lot, you can see the gunman shoot Nipsey in head and stomach and then proceeded to run from the scene. Nipsey was definitely a pillar for the community, he was trying to infiltrate different business such as his own, start companies and was even working on a documentary on the cure for cancer from which a doctor named Alfredo brown as known as Dr. Sebi was also killed over. People believed it was the government who was trying to eradicate this from happening and things started to make sense because it wasn’t gang related due them being in the same gang. It’s sad to see this happen and honestly it’s all a big plot to me that something bigger then we think or know is coming.

Kodak vs young ma

Lately Kodak has been going crazy in the media recently about his comment toward the rapper young ma who is a female but portrays a “stud” which is a masculine female. He made some comments to her saying “both of y’all can get it” it was directed towards her and nicki Minaj when Kodak seen a picture of the two together. MA spoke on it not to long ago calling it “weirdo s***, obviously he on some weird s*** bro.” She said if she got a chance to see him she’d talk him about it and finished by commenting “if I don’t care about it, why y’all care about it”.  To me the whole thing is strange and a little unsettling but it’s the music industry so anything can happen.

AAF (Alliance of American football)

The creation of this organization started in 2018 and has since grown and aired this year. AAF is a football league founded by Bill Polian, former NFL coach and Charlie Ebersol, the two formed this league as sort of a development stage or for athletes who have potential to make the NFL. It currently holds 8 centered owned teams and is located in San Francisco, CA. Definitely a major move in my opinion because you get it see athletes who didn’t have it big or wasn’t necessarily the star but did what they had to do to benefit themselves or got into legal troubles but found the way back to a game they love. It was based off Vince McMahon’s old football league “XFL” which was in related to WWE and he mashed it into one , only aired in 2001 for one season. The teams are based off of 8 big cities such as San Diego, Orlando, Atlanta, Arizona, & etc.. Feel like this is epic and shows light that the NFL is trying to grow rapidly!.

Kodak the rapper trio feud with lil Wayne & his daughter

Today’s news, the rapper Kodak is a up tempo, very rambunctious and sometimes loud about his feelings, he recently went at one of the most infamous and lyrically artist lil Wayne. From his retrospective he was intoxicated while he went on a mini rant but quickly cleaned up what he said. Basically the way this seems to me is that Kodak wants his worth known to all and sometimes we say things out of context but to further go in depth about the two, Kodak went at the legend saying he was the best rapper alive then started to tweet other “trolling” statements … the way I look at it, he wanted some clout/recognition and somehow didn’t go about it to well. Apparently letting bygones be bygones the feud he had ended with him issuing a apology. He definitely gave Wayne hella love when talking about the way he came up and stared his career. In all reality, Wayne didn’t really give care to much to comment because he still doesn’t know who Kodak is seemingly. His daughter came into play when Kodak said she was bald headed and from his words he didn’t say that, on live he said “nobody said that to that lil girl”. nobody ain’t say that too that lil girl I ain’t no peon, I ain’t no shordy”. The whole feud is wild to me but I’m no judge.

Was the actor Jussie Smollett really beaten or was it fak

Toward the end of January, the actor from the show empire by the name of Jussie Smollett. He was involved in a incident where he was beaten up and called homophobic remarks that lead to him being left on the sidewalk. He stated that he was initially jumped and beat brutally but something about his story wasn’t adding to officials who got to the scene. After his interview with ABC news anchor Robin Roberts he said he was hurt over people questioning his story and didn’t believe that he was actually telling the truth. When the news finally broke about what happen, it was absolutely evident that he was lying and staged the events that came about. He paid two gentlemen about 3500 to physically assault him and say derogatory terms that made it seem like it was a racist attack but it later was determined that  he did this because he was unsatisfied with his pay on the show and wanted more. He’s been charged with disorderly conduct and filing a false police report, he could be facing some real jail time from this stunt but a lot of people such as Tyler perry are backing him and trying to find some resolution in the problem he made but every thing remains to be that he lied about the whole situation.

Gucci controversy over black face clothing

Within the past week there’s been some uproar over brands such as Gucci and Moncler introducing pieces that had a lot to due with blacks and the culture that sparked outrage all over. Gucci had a white model that was shown in a turtle neck that covered the mouth and had “blackface” on the neck of the shirt and Moncler had a jacket that had blackface printed over the whole jacket as if it was normal or as it would just past over. TI the rapper was livid over social media last week telling and announcing a boycott to all who is of color to not support those brands since they made it clear that blacks didn’t matter even though majority of the buyer’s I’m sure are blacks. He was issuing some changes to the designers of these brands and for it to be removed from stores that maybe received the items from the shipment. To my knowledge, a lot of people were in shock when the pictures surfaced last week and just couldn’t believe how anyone could let it slide as if it was normal, when I first saw it I was in awe even though I’m not much of a expensive and high end buyer myself, I felt disrespected entirely that they could be so causal about it knowing the history of that particularly image. Everyone knows most of the high end brands and corporations are known racist and ignorant about things like this but to bluntly show disregard for what they bring to the store just shows a lot about what white people still think of us (black people).
