No matter what I will do with my video production skills, I know that I’m going to love it all. If you couldn’t tell from my other posts that I really enjoy what I do, then let this one tell you how much. I want to work in this field for a long time, maybe even for the rest of my life. My video production energy is always high because I’m the type of person who does not like to engage in front of the camera, so I do behind the scenes work. I want to make things people like to see and I’m not very comfortable being in front of the screen myself.

The only time I’m ever good in front of the camera is when I am performing with my brothers or when we are practicing a stroll and need to record ourselves, so we remember how to do it later. Watching those recordings can be cringy at times because I don’t like the way I look when I am practicing and trying to learn how to do something new. When we are performing, they look so much better and it makes me happy to see the difference in our progress.

Sometimes when you watch the videos more than once you can usually find something that someone messes up or that there’s something funny that happens without your knowledge. They make memories so much funnier when you guys are just playing them back together. When I watch other people’s videos, I watch to see how they do it because I use them as learnings as well to see different styles. We have many strolls and its crazy to see the different ways that brothers perform them. The different flavors and styles make the performance so much better.

When you watch so many videos you learn how to put them together in production when you go back to work on editing. I try to find good moments to cut between like when the moment dies down in one video to add the momentum back with another energy raising video. I am planning to make a video with one of my chapter brothers for my graduation that way I have all my great moments as an undergrad brother.
