Learning to do higher productions

01/10/2020 - Uncategorized

Starting to learn to work with cameras was quite frustrating when I first tried it. I started off using cameras at a work program when I was younger, and I loved using cameras ever since. I wanted to always use cameras but never really had access to the equipment. Now that I’m a college student and have a better understanding and access to more technology I can do a lot more.

My first class with cameras taught me to see details and see different viewpoints when recording. When I took my advance video production class, I learned angles and how to think creatively for a career. I have seen a lot of interesting views from classmates because we would give feedback in class when we would watch our class projects. This class was insightful because I didn’t know how to set up shots and views to give off certain perspectives for what I wanted the audience to grasp about a video or film. Now I know how to do that and much more.

Taking classes like these are obviously good because that’s how you learn and get experience with things you are interested in. It’s also a good way to make connections with your professors if it a class you are truly passionate. Your teachers can put you in a good position if you keep up with them and take in what they give you as advice. I have been keeping in touch with my professors so that I could learn from them and maybe even they could learn something from me as well.

Just being proactive now while your learning everything is better because then when your ready to go and get the experience you need you to have resources. I know that there are plenty of people within my fraternity that can help me gain the experience needed to do what I want but also give me options for new things to learn. I want to broaden my horizons as much as possible and recommend that others do the same.
