Video editing Software

01/06/2020 - Uncategorized

Recording video shots and just throwing them together isn’t good enough to make a movie. Remember in my last post I spoke about editing software? Well, here you go! There is plenty of editing software to use for video editing, but they are not all the same and some have better features that others do not. How do you know which software is right for you? Honestly, you don’t until you go and explore them.

I started playing video and edits back in the summer right before 9th grade. I will never forget that experience because it is what got me to where I am today. I didn’t know what I wanted to do then, but I liked working with video and playing on computers and I thought I would see how far that could take me. Editing software is still new to me as a college student, but the one that most teachers and even YouTube have recommended for me was Adobe software. As a college student, I was allowed the luxury of using this software at no cost, but it is honestly worth the price that I would pay for the future if I plan to take this video editing serious.

From what I’ve seen most computers come with basic editing software. The one on my computer is called Video Editor. It contains basic features such as a storyboard, custom audio, adding motion and text, filters, you can add a title card and even background music. If you are just beginning with video editors, this would be a good starter option. As you continue to advance with editing videos you will begin to use software like Adobe premiere, Wondershare video editor, and so many others that can be used.

If you start now with exploring the tutorials to get a better sense of the basics it will help you to get your experience so you can begin exploring the advance features. As you play around more with the basics you will notice faster and more efficient ways to do things such as using the shortcut keys and it will help you do your work at a steady pace.

If you are trying to improve your skills and find out which editor works best for you to get out there are start playing around with different apps and find out what works best for you. Why watch a bunch of tutorials for what other people like when you can just go out and get your own opinion? What works for one person may not work for the next and there are plenty of options out there to choose from, but make sure to play around with every tool and software you can because you may need to know a little bit of everything to make a career out of it.
