About ACCAP:

Located in the heart of scenic, rural Western Pennsylvania, Armstrong County Community Action
Agency, d/b/a Armstrong County Community Action Partnership (ACCAP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency established in 1965. We are a community-based, grassroots organization serving individuals facing economic hardships. ACCAP has established itself as one of the single largest providers of comprehensive human services within Armstrong County. ACCAP is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications Intern to join our team for the summer of 2025. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit development, communications marketing, and public relations. The intern will work closely with the development and communications team to support ACCAP’s outreach efforts and increase our organization’s visibility within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content across various platforms (Facebook, Linkedln, Instagram).
• Draft and edit content for newsletters blog posts, press releases, and other marketing materials.
• Help maintain and update ACCAP’s website with relevant content and information.
• Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
• Monitor social media trends and engagement and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Research and prepare grant proposals as directed.
• Support ACCAP’s event planning efforts, including promotion and coverage of events.

Abilities and Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a college/university program in Communications Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedln, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with graphic design and/or video editing software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for nonprofit work and making a positive impact in the community.
