IUP-TV Sports

At IUP, sports are immensely popular, but not everyone can attend the games. Students can’t find time to cheer on the IUP Hawks because everyone has such hectic schedules! It’s on IUP-TV! On the PSAC Digital Network, we broadcast live the majority of home sporting events. Additionally, athletes’ parents can follow their kids from anywhere in the world!

IIUP-TV Home football games are the biggest sporting event for the fall semesters. To create the greatest broadcast for the spectator, students will develop scripts, graphics, in-game highlight packages, and much more. IUP-TV also covers other sporting activities, such as swimming, field hockey, volleyball, and more. Two distinct student organizations make up the sports segment of IUP-TV. The COMM 360 group, to start. The accredited class COMM 360 counts toward a student’s advanced production requirement towards IUP’s bachelor’s degree in Communications. COMM 360 is a course that students at IUP have the opportunity to take twice. Due to their high audience and production values, 360 only broadcasts home basketball and football games. The second group, which is a division of the Center for Media Production and Research (CMPR), broadcasts the sports outside football and basketball. For their time working during a broadcast, the CMPR PAYS STUDENTS! These games, however, tend to operate on less sophisticated hardware and have fewer views.

However, IUP-TV Sports offers students a fantastic educational and professional experience that allows them to enter the sector directly out of college by giving them the chance to master different jobs while working on a production. Students are free to select the roles they would like to fill for particular events. This allows the students a chance to readily enter the role they most desire, hopefully motivating them to work in that role professionally in the future.
